Ballot history
Ballot was a French automaker that made cars between 1921 and 1932.
The brothers voting, Edouard and Maurice, he founded his company in 1905. Before the First World War that manufacture automobiles and marine engines. The company was refounded as Etablissements Ballot SA in 1910.
Ballot Edouard was well known as reliable engine designer. Ettore Bugatti helped in the development of its prime movers. After the First World War, the company entered the car with a straight-eight cylinder cars 4.9 liters for 1921 French Grand Prix. , As well as racing engines, the company made a series of road engines were installed in their own production vehicles.
The road car first was a call Ballot 2 liters Tourer 2 LS. 2 LT Ballot in 1923 and a sporty version, followed Ballot 2 lts. Since 1927, eight cylinders were used.
In 1931 the company was sold to Hispano-Suiza. Rapid decline to follow: the latest model was virtually a Hispano-Suiza and the chassis was provided only by vote. Voting closed in 1932.
